Do I need an app or an internet connection?+
No. The files are PDFs. Print them or read them on a screen, offline, on any device. Nothing tells you when you are getting close — that is the point.
How long does one case take?+
Between ninety minutes and a little over two hours, depending on the case and on how many of you are arguing about it. The seven cases together are more than twelve hours of investigation.
Can I play alone?+
Yes. It works from one to six people. Alone it reads like an investigation; with others it turns into an argument about who is right, which is usually the better evening.
Do I have to print it?+
Not at all, but most people do. Spreading the documents across a table changes how the case feels. Black and white on ordinary paper is enough.
Is it actually solvable?+
Every case has one answer and everything you need to reach it is in the file. No outside knowledge, no guessing. If you get it wrong, the sealed solution shows you the line you walked past.
In what order should I play them?+
Any order you like. They are independent cases, and the difficulty rating on each one tells you what you are getting into. Most people start with 001.
What ages is it for?+
Written for adults. The cases involve murder and are told through police documents, so they suit anyone comfortable with a crime drama. Teenagers who read them usually do fine.
